Ceilings are the most underutilized part of most homes. In the past, ceilings were not simply covered in popcorn and left to collect spider webs and dust. Ceilings were an integral part of the design of homs. Decorated ceilings pulled together rooms into an elegant whole. Ceiling domes were architectural accents that were used to decorate ceilings. Today, ceiling domes are making a comeback.

Ceiling Medallion Example

Ceiling domes, usually recessed into ceilings, are sometimes used to accent lighting and fan fixtures. In other cases, they are used alone, simply for decorative purposes. Ceiling domes are available painted with ornate Victorian themes and are also available with modern fiber optics. One popular style are oval Pembroke ceiling domes.

Round traditional ceiling domes are very simple with linear decorations on the rims. Round Pembroke ceiling domes are very similar to traditional ceiling domes, but have rims that are slightly more ornate. Oval Pembroke ceiling domes keep the ornate rim designs of round Pembroke domes, but change the shape of the dome.
