Architectural Crown Molding

Architectual Crown Molding

Architectual Crown Molding

Architectural molding can do a lot for the interior of your house. It can break up straight lines with curves, it can soften intersections, and it can make your walls look much more interesting. Do you need architectural molding in your home?

There are several types of architectural molding available to you, including choral molding, crown molding, and base molding. Choral molding is placed horizontally on the wall where a chair might touch it, about three or four feet up from the floor. Crown molding is placed at the juncture where your ceilings and walls meet. Base molding is place on the walls where the walls touch the floor. Architectural molding, whether you just use base molding or whether you use base, Choral, and crown molding, will add to the ambiance of your home’s interior.

Architectural molding is available made from wood or urethane. Wood architectural molding is the traditional favorite. Whether it is painted or stained, wood has a texture that catches the eye and invites the touch. And, wood molding contributes a warm glow to a room, particularly if the wood is stained. Urethane molding is durable and can be virtually maintenance free after installation. Urethane molding is lightweight and easy to handle.

Architectural molding, while really not taking up that much space, can make a large impact on the appearance of your home.
