Walnut Columns

Wood has been used to make columns for thousands of years. Unfortunately, only stone columns have survived throughout the ages. These remaining stone columns are majestic, elegant, and stately. Imagine these columns made with the warmth of wood and you can get an idea of the wood columns that you might want in your home or building project. Then, think of walnut wood columns for the ultimate in wood columns.

Columns made from walnut wood are characterized by having a hard surface that can be finished with oil for a highly polished surface. The color of walnut wood columns can range from a light brown to a chocolate, purplish brown. While walnut is prized for its natural colors, walnut wood columns also take well to stains.

Walnut wood columns can be made to resemble the classical columns of ancient Greece and Rome with flutes, or vertical grooves, running vertically on the round shafts of the columns. You can also request round smooth or square walnut wood columns. The capitals, or tops, of walnut wood columns can be ornately carved with ancient motifs such as acanthus leaves or can be more simple in design.

The beauty of walnut wood columns can enhance the appearance of your home or building project.
